These classes for people who have never ever knit or crocheted before. Or, if you knit or crocheted in the past, but have forgotten how, these classes will serve as a refresher – these classes will teach the basics, from which to build new skills in subsequent classes.
LEARN TO CROCHET: A four-week class on Sundays from 10-noon; $97 + materials
Have you ever oohed and aahed over a crocheted afghan, and then wondered to yourself whether you could ever make one? Well wonder no more! During this four-week class, you’ll learn the basics of crochet and then how to turn those stitches into a beautiful blanket!

LEARN TO KNIT: A two-week class running on either Wednesdays from 7-9 or Sundays from 10-noon; $47 + materials
Thinking about learning to knit? This class is for you! Learn how to cast-on, knit and purl, and cast-off, all while knitting your first scarf or cowl! Whether you’ve never ever knit before, or just can’t remember how, this is the class for you.

NEW CLASS FELTING 101: A one week class on Wednesdays from 7-9pm; $77 with materials included
Learn the ancient art of felting with a contemporary twist! Needle felting is a dry felting technique that gives you the tools to make anything you can imagine—from toys to hats to jewelry. Learn the basic techniques in this class by felting a ball and other 3-D objects, and then apply them to create your own watercolor-inspired project!
NEW CLASS DROP SPINDLE SPINNING: A two week class on Wednesdays from 7-9pm; $77 including materials
Learn the ancient art of Drop Spindle Spinning! After taking this course you will know about different fibres and how to spin your own yarn. With a simple tool, learn a technique that is thousands of years old. Materials included: a beautiful Louet spindle and fibre.
Not Quite a Beginner
You know how to knit and purl, cast on and cast off, but aren’t quite sure what to do with your newly acquired skills. These classes will teach you how to apply what you know, and give you some new skills and construction techniques to move you forward as a knitter.
BABY SWEATER: A two-week class on consecutive Weds evenings from 7-9 pm; $47 + materials
Learn the basic construction of a top-down sweater, how to increase, knit in the round, and pick up stitches for a button band. Whether you’ve got babies to knit for or just want to learn the basics of knitting a sweater, this is a great way to build some new skills.
Materials: Come into the store and we will help you select a DK-weight yarn, needles (3.5 mm 24-inch circular and double-pointed needles) and stitch markers.
KNIT YOUR BEST SWEATER: A three-week class on consecutive Monday evenings from 7-9 pm; $77 + materials
Are you ready to delve into the wide world of sweater knitting, but daunted about how to do it right? Or have you knitted some sweaters already but interested in ways to improve? In this class we’ll look at measuring, choosing size, the differences in sweater styles, and interpreting your pattern to suit your own individual body size and shape.
Materials: Come into the store beforehand to select your yarn and pattern.
BABY BLANKET: A one-week class on Weds from 7-9; free + materials purchased at EweKnit
Looking to knit or crochet a blanket for the new little person in your life (or soon to be in your life), but are intimidated by the size or techniques used? This one-week class will help you sort out the pattern, go over any techniques you might not be sure of, and get you going on an heirloom project. You will have the choice of three styles of baby blanket, using different weights of yarn
Materials: Come by the shop and we’ll help you choose the perfect materials for your project.
SOCKS 101: A two-day class on consecutive Mondays from 6-8 pm; $47 + materials
There is nothing more satisfying than a hand-knit pair of socks! In this class we’ll learn the steps for a top-down sock with a heel flap and turned heel. We’ll make a “mini” sock to practice the steps, and you’ll go home ready to make your own in the size that fits you.
Materials: Come into the store and we will help you select a worsted weight yarn and needles (double-pointed needles in 3.5mm-4.0mm) if you don’t have them.
HAT: A one-week class on Monday from 7-9pm; $25 + materials
After a scarf, a hat is a knitter’s bread and butter. Learn how to knit in the round, basic hat construction, and how to decrease – as well as how to apply these skills to other hat patterns you may encounter.
Materials: Come into the store and we will help you select a worsted weight yarn and needles (4.5 mm 16-inch circular and double-pointed needles) if you don’t have them.
